Over the last several years, Matt has closed on more than 260 acres of land and developed and sold over 2 million square feet of industrial buildings generating nearly $300 million in revenue.
Matt has more than 20 years’ experience in structuring and negotiating complex transactions and in this role is responsible for all property due diligence and entitlements, property development, acquisition and dispositions, contract negotiations, customer and partner relations, broker and lender relationships, property management, tenant improvements, and third-party management relationships. In previous roles with BlueScope, Matt led multiple legal teams and has been a member of various BlueScope management teams in the United States and Australia. Matt is the Chair of the Kansas City chapter of CoreNet.
As Director of Finance & Business Development, Ben is responsible for developing and implementing the financial and growth strategy for BlueScope Properties Group. He leads all financial planning and analysis, financial accounting and reporting, financial modeling, company audits and compliance, cash management, payments and collections, and risk management. Ben is also responsible for identifying and evaluating markets/sites, leading due diligence and proforma modeling, negotiating purchase and lease agreements, and marketing and selling completed developments.
Ben has more than 25 years of experience in finance, business development, and strategy with proven success in creating and launching strategic partnerships. His past experience includes Big 4 consulting, corporate development at a mobile media startup, and strategy and business development for the leading greeting card company in the world.
Ben earned his BSBA from the University of Missouri and his MBA from Emory University.
As Legal Counsel, Maryteresa is responsible for providing transaction advice, support, and management for BlueScope Properties Group including contract review, drafting, negotiation, and due diligence pertaining to real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, economic development projects, title review, and insurance, zoning and land use, easements, restrictive covenants, and related construction and development legal matters.
Maryteresa has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions in corporate and private practice environments.
Maryteresa earned both her Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas.
As the Senior Manager of Property Development, Eric oversees the preconstruction and development efforts of BlueScope Properties Group. As an experienced operations leader, Eric is responsible for taking projects from site selection through due diligence to delivery and stabilization.
Eric has more than two decades of experience in all phases of real estate development, from feasibility to disposition. In his previous experience, he led development teams to deliver industrial, multifamily, mixed-use, office, and retail developments regionally and nationally.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Kansas State University and holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development and Finance from The University of Denver.
As Preconstruction & Development Manager, Ed is responsible for site due diligence, construction overview, reporting, and closeout of BlueScope Properties Group projects.
Ed has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry including work with several national retail building and development programs driving site design, due diligence, project scheduling, design development, construction document production, permitting, and construction administration.
Ed earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University. He is a licensed architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and he maintains licenses in Arizona, Illinois, and Kansas.
As Preconstruction & Development Manager, Steven is responsible for site due diligence, construction overview, reporting and closeout of BlueScope Properties Group projects. Steven works closely with the design professionals and General Contractors early in the design-build process through the Certificate of Occupancy.
Steven has over 10 years of experience in the construction industry including work with national retail development programs and as a Project Manager for a General Contractor. He also has experience working as a transportation civil designer on local highway and road infrastructure. Steven earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University.
As assistant to the group, Jackie has more than 25 years’ experience of administrative support and as an executive assistant in areas of construction and real estate development. She has been an executive assistant within a design-build construction firm, a real estate developer, and a major hotel developer. She draws on those experiences as direct support for the entire group and works extensively in coordinating all things needed to support group functions including related documents tracking/execution, marketing and trade show support, travel, and expense management.
