When a customer visits a retail location to purchase a large item, such as a piece of furniture, he doesn’t want to wait weeks for it to be delivered. So, when City Furniture decided to expand its retail footprint in the Orlando area, it knew adding a new distribution center to the region would be critical to the company’s success.
“As we prepare to open retail stores in Millenia and Altamonte Springs, we needed a distribution hub that could easily serve those stores, along with our stores in The Villages,” said Ryan Cronin, vice president of real estate with City Furniture, in a prepared statement.
City Furniture’s search for an ideal location led it to lease space in The Park @ 429, a BlueScope Properties Group development in Ocoee, FL, an Orlando submarket. The property is near the Florida Turnpike, Western Beltway and East-West Expressway. Being centrally located facilitates the essential receipt and delivery of inventory. The retailer plans to offer same-day delivery, 7-days a week to Ocoee and its surrounding areas, including Orlando.
